What We Like
With its revolutionary Microgrip tweezer, the Silk-épil 9 9-521 epilator has an impressive reach, 40% wider than previous models.
Its comfort enhancing Wet and Dry usage allows for virtually seamless performance either in the shower, or applied dry, leaving you with an advanced, convenient way to achieve hair 4 times as short as a wax would!
We are also ecstatic that it comes custom designed with inbuilt pulsating active vibrations which apply extra-gentle care. It also comes with an ingenious pivoting head (no more trying to maintain the awkward angle!) which automatically adapts to your body’s contours.
It is also designed to be used on more than just legs, being able to be used on underarms, arms, face, and bikini area. It’s also incredibly useful for sensitive skin thanks to the tweezers, which don’t pull the skin while removing hair, making it suitable for all women and al skin types.

Its cordless status is also a huge plus, allowing for easy manoeuvrability, especially in the shower. On top of this, it's dermatologically recommended, fully washable and forty minute battery life is also advantageous.

Special Massaging Add-On
The reviews are unanimous in their praise for this particular attachment. If maximizing the hair being removed is your goal (and given the pain, I’m sure it is), then you’ll probably never remove this attachment.
Although not exactly designed as one, the massaging attachment is fantastic as a face epilator. This may have something to do with its prowess at catching the shorter hairs (down to .5mm) by letting you get as close to the skin as possible.
However, the rollers aren’t perfect, they are designed to help those with thinner hair more than anything.
Hands down the most welcome benefit is the comfort. The massaging rollers help with the pain, especially if used in the shower.
Armpit Attachment
This armpit attachment doesn’t give the same level of smooth that the massaging attachment does, but it certainly makes up for it.
It is made to maneuver those frustrating curves, such as the armpits and the bikini zone.
Health warning, however, these sensitive areas, are sensitive. Thankfully, the armpit attachment is thorough, making it a top contender for best bikini epilator. Plus, it won’t have you using it too often.
What We Don’t Like
As we are sure has become abundantly clear, epilating is not a spa massage treatment package. Epilating removes hairs at the root, it is painful.
There is, however, a ray of hope. Epilating doesn’t hurt that much. Think repetitive pin pricks, as opposed to acupuncture gone horribly wrong. The reviews also echo the advertising, with continued used, the pain becomes unnoticeable.

Also, for the slight difference in price compared to other models, it comes with a lot less attachments.
The biggest loss with this? If you don’t already own a trimmer, you will need one. Although it can handle the longer hairs, these do easily get caught if they haven’t been trimmed.
The final thing - really fine hair. While the jury is still out on this, some people are finding their hair is too fine for Silk-épil 9 9-521, even with the add-on.

Amazon seems to always keeps the pricing competitive, so that’s going to be your best option when ordering online.
We are not talking massive money for the Silk-épil 9 9-521, retailing at just over $110.00 US, so although you may find cheaper epilators, the trade off in quality isn’t worth it.
Conclusion
Braun has jam-packed this machine with a vast array of features which maximize efficient hair removal, and also comes with two crucial add-ons to help you get those tricky spots as painlessly as possible, vastly improving the experience.
It’s simply fantastic, the Silk-épil 9 9-521 does away with the irritating need to shave every two days leaving you with at least three weeks of truly smooth skin.
