Unfortunately, the attachment is thick and therefore doesn’t get the shorter hairs. So, unless you want to epilate twice (please, don’t), it’s best to give this attachment a miss.
Shaver Attachment
According to the positive reviews, the shaver attachment holds its own for trimming. It isn’t as good as a stand-alone trimmer, but still gets it to a good half-centimeter or so.
Without the trimmer head, it gets it short. Really short. Unfortunately, it gets it almost too short for the epilator. Best practice would have you hold it slightly away from the skin - easier said than done.
Facial Cleansing Brush
If you’re looking for that exfoliating brush for the all on in one cleanse experience, this is the attachment for you. If you have a favored exfoliator already, it is best to stick with what you know.
What We Don’t Like
First thing first, we need to be completely honest. The epilator was made to remove what mother nature (in her unending wisdom) meant to remain, stubbornly, in. If you haven’t read the flashing sirens earlier, full disclosure people, it is going to hurt.
The good news? Reality check, it doesn’t hurt that much. Think intense pins and needles bordering on a sting, as opposed to medieval torture practices, and it does get better. The Silk-épil 9 is designed to minimize the initial shock, and massage the skin as it removes hairs, guiding you to pain-free (mostly) hair removal sooner than other models.
Most epilator reviews don’t shy away from the pain of the first, but they all agree that, as promised, it gets better with time. The best part? They all agree it’s well worth it.
The other thing - really fine hair. While the jury is still out on this, some people are finding their hair is too fine for Silk-épil 9, even with the add-on.
Buying Advice
Amazon seems to always keeps the pricing competitive, so that’s going to be your best option when ordering online.
We are not talking massive money for the Silk-épil 9, retailing at just under $120.00 US, so although you may find cheaper epilators, the trade off in quality isn’t worth it.
Conclusion
